Motivation

[moh-tuh-vey-shuhn]
–noun
1.
the act or an instance of motivating.
2.
the state or condition of being motivated.
3.
something that motivates inducement; incentive.

Do you ever struggle with motivation? I do.  Hell yeah I do! I have so much that needs to be done right now.  You have no idea.  Well? Maybe you do.  I should be packing and cleaning and working.  Oh the work! I hate being my own boss some days.  I bought a business that needs so stinkin' much TLC right now I can barely breath.  We were lied to and cheated when we bought it.  So frustrating.  It is like an elephant.  It started oh so small and cute when we bought it.  We started working on it and realized that they sold us an elephant that had not grown yet.  So it started eating and eating.  We started finding more and more lies.  More and more deceit.  That darn elephant is now a huge fricken' animal and we are still trying to deal with the overwhelming baby that we bought.  Figure that out.  I feel like we are fighting a losing battle some days and others I am motivated as hell and willing to work my ass off for it.  Some days? SELL IT OFF AND HEAD FOR THE HILLS!! But I would lose money.  A lot of money.  I have obligations to a lot of people and places and need to fulfill them.  And man do I have a lot to pack! I have a lot packed already, but it feels like this monster and I can't pack it all today! We have company coming for the week before we move and so we cannot even pack all the stuff that we don't normally use! We still need beds and bedding and towels and dishes and cooking stuff.  There is no end to the list.  Wow.  Do I sound a little overwhelmed with my life right now? Cause I am.  I am so overwhelmed.  I am trying to have peace.  I am trying to pray lots.  I am trying to have faith in God and know that this is what he wants for me.  I am trying to just breathe.  I want to curl up in bed and just sleep.  I always struggle this time of year with the weather and all of this piled on top is not helping.

I guess I will keep on keepin on.

I will pray more.

Listen to good music while I work.

Pack a few more boxes.

Work a little harder.

Knowing that I cannot please everyone and that all the mistakes are not mine.

I will be ok.

I always am.

Please pray for me.

At least I have this handsome man to be here with me.  Isn't he cute?

A wee little bit of me Wednesday...

{one} do you wear holey jeans? if so, do you buy them that way?
no! I did just order a pair that has a wear hole in it though, so we will see how they look!

{two} do you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night?
I sure try! I have incredibly bad insomnia so some nights yes and others? NOT SO MUCH!

{three} what’s your favorite way to eat an oreo?
break it open, scrape off the yucky white stuff and eat the cookie! Husband eats the white stuff for me.

{four} do you wear shoes in your house?
no.  absolutely not! Just fuzzy slippers that are amazing!

{five} who would you call first if you won the lottery?
Husband and then the travel agent.  Run for my life and make decision as to what to do with the cash minus all the crazy people that want some! Preferably on a deserted island somewhere...

{six} have you ever been in a food fight?
many times! I actually started one in bible school that got the cafeteria shut down for two days! And no one, other than my few friends knew it was me!

{seven} do you snore?
not normally, but sometimes and when I am sick? like a sailor

{eight} do you know how fast you type?
I have no idea.  Depends on my mood.  Probably 50 words a minute and when raging? 80+

{nine} can you do a headstand (without using a wall)?
not anymore! I think my boobs would suffocate me if I tried!

{ten} how do you like your popcorn?
butter and salt.  Old school.  I am not a snacker though, so I might like it another way if I ever tried it!

Flow

I HATE BEING A WOMAN.

I HATE CRAMPS.

I HATE HURTING SO BAD.

That is all.  I am not impressed with today.  Or yesterday.  Or probably tomorrow!

I think I am going to go to IKEA and eat french fries and meatballs and macaroni and cheese.

And then watch too much tv.

Poor Husband.

What a wonderful...

Day!

So, I have decided that in the life I lead? I am normal.  If you can actually say that about me! My inability to go out is normal.  I did just have the most amazing weekend though!

Husband and I slept in sooooo late yesterday after me having a 12 hour sleep.  I can't complain :) There are some perks to not being a parent.  We then had breakfast and drove around the new neighborhood.  I am getting excited to set up house again and to move.  I now know where things are around that area.  There is an amazing rec center about 2 minutes away, coffee shops, grocery stores and a 40 acre park! Gotta love that!

We then came home, made dinner and just chilled out and watched Unstoppable.

Very good movie! I really liked it! And can I just say? Chris Pine is dream worthy! Love that guy.

We then played Carcassone

Amazing game! Your kids would even like it.  It is very easy and quick and fun.  Husband and I have taken to playing a quick game before bed, a quick game while dinner is in the oven or just when we are bored.  I never thought I would like it this much.  A good friend designs games and she recommended it to me.

This morning we went to church.  I have been missing it lately.  We were gone pretty much for the first 8 months we lived here and so when we were here, it was hard to go to church.  I miss feeling like I am a part of it.  We have completely just avoided it lately.  Not really wanting to try again to find something we like.  I am one of those people that is picky.  I have been burned by a lot of churches and there are so many crappy ones out there.  Too cult like, not teaching the bible, hiding things from the members (financial, big decisions) and so forth.  I am starting to like this church though.  I have been there 4 times now and it is solid teaching, good music and all of the above have not happened yet! They have actually done the opposite of them all.  I was quite shocked.

For the rest of the day? We had a 3 hour nap, watched too many movies and ate Red Brick Pizza for dinner (it was Husbands night to cook) and we have just cuddled on the couch all night being lazy.

Tomorrow starts a huge week of business, but I am excited.  There is lots to do and gets us one day closer to the move! YEAH!!!

Hope you had a good one too!

Weekends

Question for you guys...

What do you do on weekends?

Do you go to movies?

Do you go for dinner?

Do you go partying?

Do you go on road trips?

Do you veg at home in your slacker clothes?

Do you shop?

Reason I am asking? I am getting lazy.  By the time Friday night hits? I want to curl on the couch with my laptop and my tv.  Is this sad or what!!! I feel pathetic! I have no desire to go out.  The most I want to do it go for a drive and look at houses or neighborhoods.  I love it personally.  An ode to my childhood.  I have no desire to go shopping, no desire to go out to eat.  Nothing! Do you guys do amazing things? Am I just getting old? Am I actually quite normal? I don't have kids, so that should change things.  I feel like, according to TV and magazines, that I should be living the high life! Should be out there and living life!

Help...

One of my favorite places

Let me introduce you to an amazing place.

This is the Atlantis Paradise Resort in the Bahamas.

Husband and I have been here 3 times and will probably go back more.  He is not as keen as I am, but that is ok!

The lobby

Things I love about this place? The grounds.  Have you ever seen anything more beautiful in your life? All these pools are full of sea life.  They are amazing.  Supposedly the grounds here are the world's largest natural marine habitat or something.  They are incredible! You walk across all these bridges and on all these pathways.
I also love the cleanliness.  It is very clean.  There are 11(?) pools on the grounds and it is on the ocean. There is a huge water park which is my favorite thing there.
The famous view.  You see this often in movies or tv shows.  Rob and Amber on Amazing Race were even married here.  That tower in the middle? The arch connecting it? $5000 per night.  Insane.  One day? I want to stay there.
This is me parasailing.  So fun!

These are crazy blown glass sculptures that they have there.  There are a few more, but these two are my favorites.
Well? I hope you enjoyed dreaming with me on this cold and dreary day.  I can't wait to go back here!!!

Cheese, boxes and life!

I am slowly losing my mind!

Big changes coming around here soon.  Not on the blog, but with life.

  • Moving in three weeks to a new house.  Still renting, just new location.
  • Friends are moving in with us.  Yup.  You read that right.  We are taking on a new adventure.  They are moving from very far away and we are sharing a house.  I will answer all questions.  Ask away.
  • We are moving.  Have I mentioned that?
  • Still working lots.  We are kind of in the calm before the storm except for the fact that the clouds are coming and we can hear the thunder in the distance.  As of next week? WILD! or has the potential to be
  • My amazing sister and her family are coming to visit.  The week before we move.  That means I have to pack my entire house before then.  I am getting it done though!
  • Dog is going nuts.  She is acting all weird and cannot figure out how to deal with this whole boxes around the house thing.
  • Food show coming up just after we move.  Love those! They are kinda fun and you get to sample a hundred different things.  OK.  More like 200 but you know.  A lot.
  • Really wishing there was more greenery around these days! I always go nuts this time of year and just want grass and leaves and greenery.  I drive Husband nuts!
  • Cutting my cable tomorrow.  I will have it until we move and then nothing.
  • If we can pull it off, I am getting a new bed frame for our new room in the new house.
  • I am dreaming of a vacation this fall.  Not sure it will happen, but at this point? I am dreaming.
  • The new house has more color than this one!
  • It also has a huge lot! We will have a garden and actually be able to grow veggies!
I am terrified and excited for this next month!

I will keep you all updated!
